NYC Department of Education Superintendent Alexandra Estrella wants to close what once used to be one of the top-scoring schools in East Harlem and wants to bring in another school that our children are not openly welcomed to attend. In order for the children who already attend P.S 50 (which is their home community school) to attended this new school their parents would have to apply and be accepted.
Money that was supposed to be funded to P.S 50 Vito Marcantonio school mysteriously went missing, and our children weren’t getting the support they deserved.
The teachers that really care for our children were forced out by the abusive Principal Quinones who was placed in P.S 50 with no intentions of helping our school. Quinones is also a well-known friend of superintendent Estrella.
P.S 50 has been in our community for many generations and has a big impact on our community. It is also the only thing left we have to represent the original East Harlem.
Please help us keep our school open!. There is a meeting being held at P.S 50 on February 12,2018 that will determine their decision if anyone can attend please do everyone counts bring your friends, family, co workers , neighbors bring the whole community to speak on why we should keep our school.
